I was 32 and living about an hour from where I live now.
I had no SEO "agency" like now.
I had ZERO clients.
No one was paying me on retainer.
I could barely make ends meet.
I was building out high ranking sites that I planned to monetize through affiliate programs and later sell to someone for a big fat check.
It took a while to get going, and after months of work I finally had my first site off the ground and was pulling in commissions like clock work.

And if you don't know what that is, it was one of Google's first algorithm updates that put hundreds of SEO guys like me in the weeds.
In short... my site and all my work completely DISAPPEARED.
